OK... so brass bands are full of allotment holders wearing flat 'ats and breeding ferrets. They don't go on wild weekends all over the country (and out of it), drinking too much and cavorting around all night, they would much rather have a cup of tea......... Think again...!! .....Of course we take the musical side seriously and I quite like ferrets, but brass bands are a special kind of club, and after all the hard work..well.....?

Stape Silver Band. Est. 1884


Stape Silver Band will be celebrating its 125 year Anniversary this year!
To celebrate the band will be doing events throughout the year.

Open Air Massed Brass Band Spectacular in Pickering on Saturday 1st August 2009.
The concert will take place on in Market Place of Pickering from 5.00pm onwards
The event is free and will be a fantastic evening of a varied Brass Band music from
prom style classics to popular film music.
Stape Silver Band will be joined by Kirkbymoorside Town Band and Swinton and District Excelsiour Band to perform the concert which will be a night to remember!!!
Come along and support the band in marking our milestone 125 years of banding!!!
